What does it all mean
What is it all about and what does it all mean
I am going to try and implement a plan to improve all of the below to find the optimum balance for me, this includes work life balance. Actually I am quite excited because it is a plan. I have no idea how to actually make it work, but it is a plan none the less.
I am going to start with a thing called the Miracle Morning, which all round will cause a number of my targets below to improve. I urge you to research the Miracle Morning, I think it is a positive way to kick off the day. It starts by getting up earlier than normal, avoiding the snooze button. My morning then will consist of the following
Silence – Meditation, Reflection, Breathing and Chi Gung, Gratitude 10 mins
Affirmations – 5 mins
Visualisations – 5 mins
Be a healthier weight
to create wealth of time and money
have and wear better clothes
be more confident on phone and to talk more on phone
be happier, my first thought is whats the good, not whats the bad
Exercise – 10 mins burpees and practise the fitness challenge
Reading – 25 mins books to improve myself, situation or knowledge
Fitness – 29 my general level of fitness simple
My fitness is going to improve by exercise every day, plus british military fitness 2-3 times a week. I am going to make choices that create opportunities to be more active, such as working in garden or walking instead of using the car, simple changes.
Diet – 15 the standard of diet and portion size. I am going to play this one by ear, by cracking on with exercise in morning and doing a fruit or vegetable power smoothie and generally watching, I hope to improve, and my cousin has volunteered to help, she has great knowledge http://www.erofitness.co.uk/ I also think that proper hydration will reduce a craving for food too.
Happiness – 35 how happy I am with circumstances. This is to include my work, home and masonry. I love my masonry so not too much to improve there, work is good but I need to focus. The people are amazing, but I sometimes feel out of place, because of something I have yet to define. It sits on my shoulder, yet I have no idea what it is. My home life is good too, a great relationship with my father now he is nearer and good time with my lads. From this short piece, I can see two areas, obviously work and my shoulder whatever that is.
Well being – 60 my general health level (not fitness based) I have been checked over by many a doctor, and apart from my weight Im in pretty good shape, I dont often fall ill or catch colds etc. A couple of problems I suffer with are, what I think, are severe cramps in my right calf, where I had the clot. Though Rob mentioned in passing that cramps are clearly muscle based and the clot is based on veins. I cant see a connection but it is strange it is only ever in that leg. And plantar fasciitis. This is excruciating, but some recently purchased shoe inserts are sorting this, I have pain intermittently, nothing like before.
Strength – 55 as it says on the tin Now I listen to a podcast by Shawn at http://theshawnstevensonmodel.com/ and among many gems of knowledge about every aspect of life, health and well being he suggests that strength training is good for the sole and body and triggers many beneficial effects. I have free weights so I feel I need to add in squats, presses and back lifts (is that a military press).
Technology Dependance – 15 how much Im relying on tech at home, phone telly computer etc, this is a reverse score so the lower number is bad on this one. The plan here is that it is bad to sleep with technology around, I need to do work in evening but set a limit to ten oclock (for now), get off social media, and wind down telly and start creating a peaceful environment, maybe music and reading (fiction so as not to activate brain).
Sleep – 25 how restful and complete my sleep is. I havent slept very well for years, right from early teens to the present day, with a more active day I am going to need regeneration time which is sleep, so darkened room, no caffeine after 8:00pm, no tech or radio signals in room, comfy and warm.

Hydration – 35 how hydrated I am. I dont drink nearly enough water, so part of the miracle morning is to drink a pint of water right after my routine, so I reckon I need to be about 5-6 pints of water a day, one in morning, one at night in place of tea and that then leaves four during the day, two in morning and two in afternoon. Well I shall give it a go.
Spirituality – 39 not sure how to define this but I know what I mean. All of the above is going to help my general spirituality. I have a faith and belief in something more than me, I couldnt be a mason if I didnt. So I think I need to be more mindful of others, more cheerful, and see my first thought as, how can I help them, instead of what can they do for me.
That surely is a lot to do all at once, I am not going to promise I can do everything straight away, but I will certainly give it a go. All of my friends can observe me and see over the next few months if they see any real difference in me. I have to achieve greater than 30 days for it to become habitual. Come with me on the journey.

Just read your targets and they seem achievable if you gradually take the course. You have the ability to make yourself a better healthier person because you want to. A person that is not dedicated will not stay the course. A perfect example if dedication is my daughter who has now lost nine stone in 18 months and HSS still a fewore to go. Her occupation restricts her from her running unsocial hours but goes out whenever she can. I do hope you will achieve your goal for it is comforting and gives a feeling of self esteem which you and you alone can achieve. Good luck on your new fitness adventure. Alan W.
