My Musings

My Musings on Corona Time

Since Corona Virus or Covid 19 Lockdown, I have to say, I have completely lost all sense of time and reality. What has made it so difficult to bare is the negativity of a large portion of the nation and the negativity of the media on corona time. During the writing of this piece I will be using profanity, not because I am barely literate, rather the words tend to sum up my feelings with the appropriate attitude.

I cannot see what more the government could do given the speed of infection. To offer furlough for PAYE and percentage of earnings for self employed is simply magnificent, but of course there will be people that fall through the lines, businesses that will never recover from the downturn. I had decided to take redundancy prior to corona time, and forge a course on my own. Corona time has put a block on that, indeed, even made me rethink the very nature of the business plan. Possibly needlessly, to cover future eventualities such as this. It originally had an exit strategy and pension planning. But the massive hit the stock market took, put paid to that, instead, I will build the business to run independently of me, so that it can continue to provide income for me later in life.

What has been an absolute delight during corona time is seeing the creativity of the public on social media. Fortunately I had been culling all my properties of anybody that had a negative hint. Quite simply, I do not want to hear about bad news, crap reporting or false accusations. Mine on the whole is a very positive timeline. I no longer care what people think. I post what I like, love, enjoy for my benefit and if it makes somebody smile then I am grateful. My absolute favourite social media at the moment is TikTok and in particular, a genius lady @loubobang (she does sum up people quite beautifully with the odd swear word or two)

Now, let us return to the media. As a public, we have to understand that they have nothing else left to report on, so any negatives or details that don’t quite gel together they will leap on. I have nothing but respect for those cabinet ministers leading the daily briefings having to deal with cockwombles asking the same questions that they had answered a million times previously or asking questions that have no answers in the current circumstances, such as “when are we coming out of lockdown?”. get a grip media, start being constructive. Even the labour leader has changed tactics during this corona time, isn’t it about time you did the same?

What about the complete fucktards who think that there is no corona time, that they can go out in groups, that they continue to live their lives as they did before, that in fact, the rules do not apply to them. Alongside these, are the people who think that those of us doing the shopping are blessed and having a cracking time. The truth is, it is no fun queueing for hours, running the risk of infection with dipshits who think it’s ok to cough and sneeze without covering their mouth or getting close in to your personal space. Hold on a fucking minute, step the fuck back and get out of my space you complete fuck nugget. I’d quite happily stay indoors and keep out of the firing line. Then of course, we have the additional problem of food restrictions because pond life thought it would be a good idea to stockpile during corona time. I happen to be shopping for a number of people. Im not a saint, it is just easier for one of us to go out and keep the others safe, my dad is in the vulnerable category and is totally house bound because of it. Back to those restrictions, because Im shopping for multiple people, I have to make multiple journeys to get essentials such as bread and milk, which is maximising my at risk corona time.

There are positives to this situation:
I had spoken with my dad on numerous occasions about whether this generation could cope like they did in WW1 and WW2. Apart from the odd few, across all generations, I would say people are doing the right thing, looking out for each other and keeping a positive attitude. Checking up on the oldies (yes Flemmo, I mean you), and maintaining a great attitude.
The earth is taking the opportunity to heal itself. How lovely is it, knowing that during corona time the earth and nature are flourishing. Im filled with joy that we have been shown to step back every now and then.
We have time to learn new skills or learn about each other, why should it be a bad thing having to actually engage with people. Families finally coming together.
It cannot go without saying about the key workers putting in a stirling effort on our behalf. I have always appreciated the NHS, emergency services, the dustmen, the people doing the basic jobs are the ones that have pulled an amazing shift. When you go back to work will you still be so thankful for their work when corona time is over.

So for the love of all that is holy, find the positives, keep safe and be considerate of others.
I lov ya all, and Im desperately missing hugging my friends, male and female. I will think about you and pray for you all at some point, my prayer list has got huge all of a sudden.
Thank you to my friends and family supporting me and thank you for taking the time to read this far. Why don’t you leave a positive comment about your personal experience during corona time, Id love to hear.

    Hi Paul
I agree with the sentiment of your blog thank you. It is amazing how blue the sky seems and how many more stars are visible at the moment. Now I dont know if that is just because I am having the time to notice or if it is because the majority of us have not used our cars or only used them occasionally for essential journeys.
The birds are out there getting frisky and I have relished seeing nature nationally and worldwide encroaching on now empty streets. I have no doubt that if as a race we disappeared tomorrow nature would take over and the earth would heal itself.
I love how communities are coming together even though we are at the same time all isolated. I love how Church has gone online and is now accessible to people who might never cross the threshold of a churchbuilding, yet are discovering the Lord in a new way.
I would like to give a big shout out to our key workers. I think school staff need an honourable mention, as they put themselves at risk to make sure vulnerable children and the children of key workers are cared for and amused every day.
I think we are seeing the best in humanity and we shouldn’t let a few misguided people taint our view of the people of this great nation which I am so proud of living in x

Tracey, that is exactly it, positivity. The sky is definitely bluer with fewer planes up there. The church has a great opportunity to get back into our lives and really mean something again. People love a sense of community and the church could be that, whatever religion. Im grateful to you, not only for commenting, but reminding me of those teachers. Hopefully parents will see what sort of nuisance the troubled few are because of lack of parental care.
