Freemasonry in the Modern WOrld
Freemasonry in the Modern World
Im part of freemasonry in the modern world, and proud to be such. I love the fact that circumstances are changing all around the world to allow freemasonry to be open and available. There are many people in freemasonry who have been involved for many years, indeed, are sons of fathers who themselves were freemasons. Their take is going to be very different, having lived through the imperative of keeping things to themselves. As the years have gone by, Grand Lodge have moved with the times and wish to make our brotherhood more visible and accessible.
I am part of the Generation X who take full advantage of modern technology, and want to embrace it. Part of this is using modern technology, in particular, social media, to get the word out about my freemasonry. As such, I want to talk openly about my part of this wonderful brotherhood. This isn’t like talking about having a cup of tea or eating a cake right now. This is my lifestyle, my beliefs, my essence. That fundamental part of me that always was, that comes to the fore from my journey within freemasonry.
At my disposal I have web sites, social media in the form of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google+ and Pinterest. I plan to reach out in all forms and make new connections, educate, inform and enjoy those platforms to talk about what freemasonry means to me. I was thinking about some of the benefits in being a part of freemasonry, that is:
Confidence
Man Management
Professionalism
Public Speaking
Interaction with higher ranks and different social status
Charity work
Focus and Determination.
Given that list of things how beneficial that would have been for me personally at an earlier point in my working life. Those particular skills are those that make you stand out for promotion to management positions in whatever career path you choose. Iv heard the conspiracies on freemasonry being a step up in your career and using it to advance your career. Absolute tosh, its about how you improve as a person that makes you stand out for that promotion which perhaps makes it seem like freemasons are more eligible for promotion. So wouldn’t that be a great set of skills to gain. Where else would you gain all that, especially from an environment that you enjoy being in and wish to attend.
So given all that, have you considered freemasonry, what do you know about it, what would you wish to know if you could ask the question? Do feel free to comment on the available platforms, and I look forward to communicating with you at some point or even meeting you as a brother.
