ITS TRUE I DISCOVERED THE SECRET OF FREEMASONRY
Before I reveal this secret let me head back a short way to set a scene for you. As a province we created a social media group that was to aid communications from province and give everyone a voice that could be heard. What I quickly saw was that people used that medium in varying ways, some wanted to talk, some wanted to listen, some wanted to observe. Everyone wants to be heard, but what the group actually does is give people a voice from the very new to the very old (as a member). You can use that voice how you choose without fear of being told off, which is a childish notion. There is no topic that you should be afraid of, you can be sure in a society so widely extended as ours that someone else is surely dealing with the same issues, but maybe they dont feel they have the voice for it.
So we found people were ready to support you, help you with the problem, deliver knowledge, offer advice or a shoulder, but most of all be there for you. Truly enlightening, that spirit of friendship and brotherhood, that you would only ever really find in the forces, or your lifelong friends who know everything about you.
We went out last night not as a group or in any arranged way, but we went under invites and as guest because we wanted to, when we got there, lo and behold there was a goodly portion of people there who were part of the facebook group. Cufflinks in evidence. Well that is the secret!
When we all got together, we shared stories, laughed so hard our sides were splitting and tears were falling from our eyes. We ate, drank and were so merry. The spirit and secret of freemasonry for me was captured so succinctly in this one night, we were together doing what we enjoy doing, supporting good causes and voicing our opinions on the life the universe and everything.
Its a thing we should do more of, meet up as a group at a meeting. That is one part and as a new member of freemasonry that you may not get for a while, yet it is the best part, if you make the effort people will receive you with open arms, no agenda and treat you as a brother and I can guarantee you will have a great time out. I could post pictures, but of course, the names have been changed to protect the innocent! Let me know your thoughts on the secret of freemasonry, Id love to hear.
