British Military Fitness Part 8
It is the start of a new year, 2015 and my first session back to British Military Fitness. Very nervous again, because of the christmas break, not because of overeating, in fact, I didn’t tuck into food much at all, bar one day. The rest of the time have not really felt up to it. No, I was nervous because I still have the remnants of a cough, and my ribs are really hurting like they have been digged, when I used to do kung fu training, and they were the easy target.
It was Josh taking class tonight, he is the one, I was ill after last time, and he has that fascination with quad work. I assume you remember, I certainly havent forgotten. I was given a heads up about an instructor called Johnno I think. Apparently, where all the others are hardcore, he has psycho tendencies on top, so I shall treat him with care to be sure.
There was one other blue there tonight, but apparently she is technically a red bib but self imposing herself down to a blue because she hadnt been for a while.
Sadly for her she got partnered with me, and being a very slight lady, you have to feel sorry for her. One of the exercises was to go face to face and grip each others forearms, and move the other person to work the quads, in a squat position, in a full range of motion. Unlucky for her, she probably couldnt have moved me anyway because of my size, but also this movement and diversion of energy was what I spent years learning how to do in kung fu, so it was never going to happen. Then we had to stand behind our partner and apply pressure on their shoulders, whilst they squatted again. Poor lass, couldnt get out of the squat position. I didnt know where to put my hands, in order to help her up, but she took it in good stead, when she was on my shoulders she was practically doing a piggy back and I was up and down as if she wasnt there.
Then we had the usual nasty exercises, and all this after a horrendous warm up. The warm ups actually do for me, I could probably do really well if I didnt have to do those damn warm ups.
Just the one piece of throwing up today, and I didnt go off for anything to eat after, got home, had fruit and milk. Today I am fully refreshed, with a dull ache in my ribs still, so I am back ready for Wednesday, after which I will sort out my boxing mitts and get in the boxercise on the Tuesday as well.
