British Military Fitness Part 6
Well, that is my first night back after my little set back, for which, I have taken a fair amount of ribbing. To be fair, I probably deserved that. I prepared today, eating a good breakfast, a protein and carb dinner at lunch time, a couple of bananas and a porridge when i got in, with plenty of milk.

I have to say I was a bit nervous about tonight, even more so than my first time going. Was the old body going to be alright, had I prepared well enough? The instructor, I didn’t catch his name, was hardcore tonight. I watched Josh powering through the exercises, like a machine. There was no way in the world I was going to keep up, so it was back to the thumb up bum, brain in neutral and keep going.
One of the main exercises today, was this beast of a hill, I’m going to call it Mount Everest, we had to run up the hill and do 1 press up, run down and then back up adding 1 to the count and repeat until dead. I figured when this torture was over, that would be the end of it, not a chance, there were planks and sit ups and all sorts. I said hello to jelly legs again. I can see that exercise leads to fitter healthier bodies, I cant see how this torture does that. It is way beyond my understanding. My recovery is improving rapidly, but I do not seem to be getting any improvement (noticeable) in aerobic capability. My efforts are completely useless. Do not get me wrong, I keep going and I am totally spent at the end but am I actually improving? Is it too soon to identify that. Im back on it on Wednesday, hopefully I will find it easier.
