Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 15

Its another night of freezing cold and the dreaded British Military Fitness. I say dreaded, but it isnt, it is great fun, and plenty of banter. That is a given, from the fact it is military people, the forces are built on banter. Tonight was the turn of Andy to take us, and the numbers of people were even. That is always good.

The knots in the stomach started when I saw him getting out a log with four ropes tied to it, and five horrible looking body bars. I remember too well running with a telegraph pole sized log, and the whole section hanging on for dear life, running as fast as we could with a few people following behind. Every now and then the loose ones would change with the flagging member of the team. Further it was a horror of a session whenever that bloody log appeared. The stuff that nightmares are born from.

We were running relays backwards and forwards whilst in between doing some rather nasty exercises with the poxy body bar. Im ok at all those exercises, its just the running and jumping that is killing me. Anyone with some ideas on how I can short term improve these elements I would be very much grateful to hear. I am happy to give anything a go. I wonder whether skipping would be an answer or not.

The session seemed to finish very quickly, or maybe that was me slipping in and out of consciousness that made that happen. I dont know.

As a last note I have agreed to give the devils challenge a go. Its a six km course over which you will ultimately do 660 repetitions over that distance, making 666. You have one hour to complete and apparently few people complete. I can say Im going in 100% and dont expect to complete, but I will be disappointed if Im not still trying at the end.

I have now got my heaters ready to fix. The cold is not so bad, now that I spend two days out in the cold BMFing. But mornings are a nightmare.
