    Strictly My Views Part 1

Strictly My Views Part 1 Tonight was the first vote of Strictly Come Dancing 2015, and what follows below is my view of what happened. Did I mention I love Strictly Come Dancing. #Strictly Let us first talk about what a great production the whole show is. Absolute quality. The music from The Dave Arch Band is simply brilliant, consider how much music they have to practise each week and you come to understand the job they actually do. The singers don’t do a bad job either although, personally I feel the male singers are better than the females and they should all stay away from the high notes. Then…

    Diary of Dad 1

Diary of Dad Slight change of tactic. I have created a new set of blogs to keep my personal journey separate to other parts that I may write about, I will leave what I have done well alone, but I feel that I am onto something now and it will, hopefully be useful. Although, I haven’t been blogging, I have been exercising, but for me I can’t get to BMF anymore, due to some changes. Out of necessity I have joined a gym. I am now going in swimming for half hour before work and exercising on a bike and rowing machine in the evening. Today I did ten lengths,…

    The Four Cardinal Virtues

The Four Cardinal Virtues In freemasonry we hear mention of the four cardinal virtues Prudence, Temperance, Fortitude and Justice. These virtues we should study and apply in our lives, and it occurred to me that we hear the words and then forget to discover the meaning behind them. Prudence is the ability to govern and discipline oneself by reason, which is most definitely a good lesson and one would think that the ability to distinguish between virtuous and vicious actions is one that we could all do well with, since we most definitely would not want to have someone be vicious to them, without thinking they can easily behave like that…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 24

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 24 I am a bit behind so my apologies for that, however since last times blog, I have been doing my Miracle Morning. Today I was up at 5:30, and my routine was press ups/situps/burpees for 10mins silence and standing in chi gung posture 5mins gratitude and saying thanks for things Positive statements and thinking for the above two 5 mins reading 25mins drink pint of water breakfast consisting of poached egg, brown bread, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. Feel good for it all, not tired although it was harsh getting up so early. Plus felt really good not going near phone for two hours…

    What does it all mean

What is it all about and what does it all mean I am going to try and implement a plan to improve all of the below to find the optimum balance for me, this includes work life balance. Actually I am quite excited because it is a plan. I have no idea how to actually make it work, but it is a plan none the less. I am going to start with a thing called the Miracle Morning, which all round will cause a number of my targets below to improve. I urge you to research the Miracle Morning, I think it is a positive way to kick off the…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 23

Looking to lose weight BMF Part 23 Scot was the trainer tonight, normally ok, not usually a killer session, he must have had the devil in him tonight, as he really went for it. His obsession tonight was knees up, high knees, technique. It was a monster session, my knees definitely hurt. Nice to see the newbies Nat and Nina return, although it was funny to see they probably enjoyed it less than I did and thats saying something. Not so many tonight, but its the quality that counts. Apparently Scot is taking the next few sessions at Jacksons, and has some delights in store. Immediate fear kicks in and…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 22

Looking to lose weight BMF Part 22 Bit of a two parter tonight since I missed last weeks blog, simply because it was the fitness challenge. Some of you may remember I turned out on a Saturday back in November for my first ever test. It was horrendous and took me about 18mins 30secs as I recall. My test this time was 12mins and 4 secs. Now that is a big improvement in physical recovery. So for those of you who think you cant do it, thats a near 23 stone geezer getting up off his behind and doing as Im told and not giving up, one to two times…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 21

I turned up at Jacksons Field last night (Bank holiday). As soon as I switched the engine off it started raining, and I knew I was in for a crappy night. It turned out that there was three of us, two blue bibs and the instructor Josh. I definitely knew I was in for a crappy night. The theory was, he could work us hard and test us as red bibs and correct technique. Im not one for text speak in actual writing, but OMG! The warm up had some hideous thing where we had to cross jump across the path, then touch the floor with hands, and variations thereof.…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 20

Would you believe me if I said this was the hardest session I have ever done. My legs are totally jelly. Close to puking my guts as well. Desperate to have a shower and cup of tea. Plenty of running as usual, Josh was the instructor for the night and that’s a guarantee it is going to be an easy night, especially if he has been doing competitions, as after all he is a bit of a girl, and cant cope. Bless him. We also managed to blag Maria into wearing a red bib, which I think she regretted, but fair play, she did it. You have to have an…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 19

Well, following last week’s return to BMF, I turned up again tonight. Last week was ridiculously hard, apparently according to Tom in our office, something like six weeks of training can be lost after 2 weeks, so a four week break wasn’t looking good for me. It was difficult in the warm up, but I was surprised that there was no residual pain in the following days. Tonight, was a monster for me, just the warm up left me on the verge of blowing chunks, which I somehow managed to hold on to till the end. Then it seemed to be a constant workout, like nasty. I was being encouraged…
