Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 18
Ok, here is the story, new iphone 6+, happy days, love the screen size, and responsive screen, but…had poor restore, with lots of things going wrong, result, locked out of two websites as admin and cant get back in. On top of which I noticed that the phone was slower than my 5, and the charge cable didnt go in properly as you might expect for an apple product. This evening, it looked like something inside the phone has dropped and the charge cable wont go in, Result knackered phone. So because of all that I couldnt do my blog on Monday, I did train in the soaking wet, it…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 17
People, let me first thank you all again for reading, and noticing the weight changes happening in my life. This year, I have lost 3/4 of a stone. Im absolutely happy with the speed. Tonight even, Mel mentioned he noticed the difference in my efforts and also the ever present Jon was there with his hand on my shoulder giving me that support. I missed Monday night’s blog, but rest assured I was there, Josh was back from his New York trip, and keen to make us pay for his break, with blood sweat and tears. The long and short of it was that he smashed the squats and I…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 16
Today was the day of the dreaded devil’s challenge. I was on the phone to a friend last night and told him, I was going to do it, and in a show of solidarity he said he would do it with me. To be fair, I did tell him it was going to be nasty, and he still agreed. I woke up bright and early to ensure I got plenty of calories inside for the arduous task that was to come. I was delighted to see John’s smiling face when I got there. Andy the instructor was full of beans, and quickly explained the challenge, 6 stations, 6kilometres in total…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 15
Its another night of freezing cold and the dreaded British Military Fitness. I say dreaded, but it isnt, it is great fun, and plenty of banter. That is a given, from the fact it is military people, the forces are built on banter. Tonight was the turn of Andy to take us, and the numbers of people were even. That is always good. The knots in the stomach started when I saw him getting out a log with four ropes tied to it, and five horrible looking body bars. I remember too well running with a telegraph pole sized log, and the whole section hanging on for dear life, running…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 14
What a great session tonight was, Im on a buzz a high, elated. Scot was the pain master for tonight. I wouldnt call it the worst it has been, but no mistakes it was hard. There was a new girl started tonight, who looked in a reasonable state of health, as they say in Indiana Jones, you chose wisely, when she picked the blue bib for her fitness level. She admitted frequent cramps and the inevitable pain from the squats. I suppose I am getting used to the expected pain. I know its coming so I grit my teeth and get on. I still really suffer from the warm ups,…

Looking to Lose Weight BMF Part 13
Back on the wagon again, my arms only just stopped hurting on Sunday, from last week’s. You can see I havent done Wednesday’s as my arms were sooooo sore. Tonight, I think the instructor was Mark, you know, the one who isnt too bad, my arse! We did sprint runs interspersed with exercises such as press ups, situps, burpees, and squat thrusts. I could barely keep up with tonight. I found it extremely hard. I would not say this was the hardest one, but it was hard to me. It was partner exercises and I found it very difficult to keep up with my partner as he was a green…

British Military Fitness Part 12
Here we go for British Military Fitness, part 12. I could not post on Monday night, as I was so physically knackered I simply could not do it. Before I go into it, Im not certain if I mentioned since my last weigh in on Thursday Im down half a stone. Im very happy with that, feels like I have done equally well this week, so we will see what is happening on Thursday morning. The session was taken by Josh, you know the one who has a real fascination with doing squats and running up the worst bit of the field. Im actually not kidding when I say, the…

British Military Fitness Part 11
Was not looking forward to tonight, to be honest, my legs were still in agony after Monday’s British Military Fitness session. Nobody saw today, but I needed to work behind a machine feeding paper and it required getting down low in a squat position and I got very stuck, had to drop to the floor roll over and pull myself up with the machine. A colleague Les, walked by, but I couldn’t ask him to exert maximum energy to lift me up, he would have had a heart attack. So, my legs were hurting, and all advice said get along and ten minutes in you will be fine, well ten…

British Military Fitnesss Part 10
Here we go then people, British Military Fitness Part 10, before we do that, I am pleased to report my weight this week is X-3lbs, so a 3lbs weight loss. Im happy with that. Tonight we had, I think his name was, Mark. There were whispers that perhaps it might be an easier session. I’ll be honest I was very dubious about that, these guys are experts at causing pain and laughing in the process, even worse they somehow manage to get you to affirm how much you are enjoying it. “Are we having fun?” “Yea of course we are, thighs screaming, lungs gasping and arms burning. Well so much…
